IEA-EEF Scholarships are awarded by the International Epidemiological Association - European Epidemiology Federation to scientists from middle-income countries from the European Region (as defined by the World Bank), who would like to participate in the EUROEPI 2009 Congress with a scientific contribution. The scholarship will reimburse for the registration fee.

• A paper or poster must have been accepted for presentation at the meeting. The application should be send in advance (till 30 April 2009), before notification about abstract acceptance, but it will be withdrawn when your abstract is rejected.
• Applicant should be a citizen of a middle-income country from the European Region without obvious alternative resources. He/she should not be working or resident in middle or high income countries at the time of application or be employed temporarily or permanently by international organizations such as WHO, PAHO etc, on the assumption that funding should be available from their host organization.
• Applicant should be epidemiologist in practice, teaching or research (as assessed from review of training, employment history and publications)

• Assessment of commitment to an epidemiological career should include a review of training and employment history (e.g. a list completed on the application form).
• IEA membership is NOT a prerequisite for a scholarship, though it may be taken into account if there are two or more candidates equally meeting other criteria.
• A recipient of a scholarship is required to acknowledge the scholarship in any publication of the material presented at the meeting for which the bursary was given. A form of words which may be used is: This work was presented at IEA EEF European Congress of Epidemiology 2009 with the support of scholarship provided by the International Epidemiological Association-European Epidemiology Federation.

Please, keep in mind that you will be reimbursed AFTER the meeting and that you will need to pay in advance all expenses.
After you have had a positive reply on your application, you will receive a scholarship Acceptance Letter to sign and a form to fill in with your bank data.
